Burma
ပြည်ထောင်စု သမ္မတ မြန်မာနိုင်ငံတော်

This is undoubtedly one of the most wonderful places we've been to.  There are more temples than you can shake a stick at.  They range from the magnificence of Shwedigon Paya in Rangoon to the simplicity of some of the temples on the plains of Bagan.  There is natural beauty (in spades!) at Inle Lake, amazing sights such as the worlds longest teak bridge just outside of Mandalay, and a unique culture that has yet to become a pastiche of itself as it is put on solely for the benefit of tourists.

We had great food and the people were very friendly and not yet weary of tourists.  In fact, tourists are still enough of a novelty that people are grateful for the money they bring in without being fed-up or forced out by high prices that inevitably follow tourism.
