This is our new big idea. We thought Beijing would be a major hub airport and we'd get direct flights to pretty much anywhere we wanted. Not so! The new plan is to make a virtue out of this and use the stopovers as mini-holidays on the way to the main event. Generally, this seems to work out fairly cheap too!
This time it was back to Paris. Having not been for years and years, I've now been twice in the last month. Better planning is needed, me thinks!
We planned to use this to get over our jet-lag before landing on the rellies for Christmas. This meant that we were all wide awake, but not energetic, way before dawn. Once we had got out acts together and got out the door, we were greeted by a lovely December sunrise.
Just off the Champs Elysee are the two pavilions built for the Great Exhibition in 1889. They also built some tower thing for it but more of that later. Below is the roof of the Grand Palace which housed all kinds of industrial equipment.
The river Seine with the afore-mentioned tower thingy in the background. With that we decided to head back as there is only so much walking the little ones can do before they start moaning and we had several more days to fill any way.
This will be a blog about my latest shots and what I liked or was trying to do with them
I am a teacher of Economics and have worked in various schools in Europe & Asia. One of the things I love doing is getting out and about with my camera.
