The Gap at Ella: first at night then during the day. They reckon on a clear day you can see as far as the coast.
Ella is not how the guide books describe it. All it is restaurants and guesthouses. However, it is a really nice relaxing place and the food is excellent.
All around Ella are tea plantations and some lovely walks to get you to the views.
The other thing we did in Ella, apart from sitting around and doing he-haw that is, was to visit the Dowa Buddhist temple at Bandarawela which has a 2000 year old Buddha statue.
The other thing I loved about this place was the train journey on to Kandy. We couldn't get into first class (15 quid with lunch thrown in!) so went in the tourist carriage (no A/C but big windows to look out of and comfy seats 8 quid). The views were stunning!
This will be a blog about my latest shots and what I liked or was trying to do with them
