All that's new and interesting
This is a small walled town mid-way between Beijing and Xi'an in Shanxi province. Within the walls pretty much every building is traditional 18th or 19th century design and provides a bit of a step back in time. We went on a photography trip during our recent half term break. We got the overnight train down from Tianjin. It was a close-run thing but we very nearly missed it. For once it wasn't even slightly any of our faults. With plenty of time to spare we got to the river... But the bridge was up! None of us even knew that the bridge went up!. Not to worry, it's coming down. A small delay, but not to worry. Then it stops and we wait.
We then realise it's not going to move and by now time is getting short. Jump on the underground, having just missed one train, leg it through the station, through security checks along the concourse (Obviously our train is at the far end!) and along the platform. Make it with about a minute to spare.
We wake up 12 hours after boarding the train with about 10 minutes to go before Pingyao, having drunk nothing on the train, at all. Job done! Time to explore.
This will be a blog about my latest shots and what I liked or was trying to do with them
