Absolutely one of my favourite things to do on holiday is to wander around a place. Not necessarily with anywhere in particular in mind or, if I do, no pre-set route. Just the idea that we will see something cool on the way.
Up until recently that had become a problem but now our children are a bit older, and if we can keep them interested, they will walk for a big chunk of a day. Obviously this has it's limits (usually about 2PM!) but it is also good to remember that we are supposed to be enjoying ourselves and some nice quiet relaxing time is no bad thing either.
Just wander and see what there is to see.
This was, for me at least, the highlight of the trip. When I was here last month it was lashing it down and we didn't have the time to climb the bell tower anyway. Very glad I bothered this trip though. Even Mrs E enjoyed it and she hates heights!
It is a bit of a climb up but the views from the top were stunning. In particular, those of the Eiffel Tower are better than those from the Eiffel Tower on what was a lovely crisp winter's day.
This is our new big idea. We thought Beijing would be a major hub airport and we'd get direct flights to pretty much anywhere we wanted. Not so! The new plan is to make a virtue out of this and use the stopovers as mini-holidays on the way to the main event. Generally, this seems to work out fairly cheap too!
This time it was back to Paris. Having not been for years and years, I've now been twice in the last month. Better planning is needed, me thinks!
We planned to use this to get over our jet-lag before landing on the rellies for Christmas. This meant that we were all wide awake, but not energetic, way before dawn. Once we had got out acts together and got out the door, we were greeted by a lovely December sunrise.
I haven't been to Paris for donkey's.
I'd forgotten just how really nice it is. Although the weather wasn't at its finest... Well, what do you expect for mid November? and although I had 37 Asian school children in tow whose sole desire seemed to be to visit the flagship Chanel shop on the Champs de Lycée, a fine time was had.
This will be a blog about my latest shots and what I liked or was trying to do with them
I am a teacher of Economics and have worked in various schools in Europe & Asia. One of the things I love doing is getting out and about with my camera.
All that's new and interesting
